The Snake

The Snake

Yesterday President Donald. J. Trump celebrated his 100th day in
office by holding a campaign style rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

During the rally President Trump treated his supporters to
a dramatic poetry reading, delivering Al Wilson's ballad,
"The Snake" to help commemorate his first 100 days in office.

During his campaign President Trump regularly recited this
poem as a cautionary tale against allowing, "Syrian Refugees"
to take advantage of American generosity.

But after both openly supporting and voting for him, as well as also
witnessing how he has not only gone back on his, "WORD" but how
he has treated others who both openly supported as well as voted
for him like General Michael Flynn, Gov. Chris Christie, Mayor Rudy
Giuliani, Roger Stone, as well as, "Julian Assange" in his first 100
days in office, I truly believe Mr. Wilson's ballad below is a far more
actuate description of people, and of men like, "President Trump"
versus being a far more actuate description of, "Syrian Refugees"
and/or any of the rest of us who have not openly sold our, "Souls"
to the devil, and/or openly sold our, "Country" out, for our very
own personal gain, while at the very same time continuing to try to
project onto, "Others" what we really and truly are, "Ourselves".....

The Snake
Al Wilson (1968)

On her way to work one morning,
Down the path along side the lake,
A tender hearted woman,
Saw a poor half frozen snake

His pretty colored skin,
Had been all frosted with the dew,
"Poor thing," she cried,
"I'll take you in and I'll take care of you"

"Take me in tender woman,
Take me in, for heaven's sake,
Take me in, tender woman,"
Sighed the snake

She wrapped him all cozy,
In a comforter of silk,
And laid him by her fireside,
With some honey and some milk

She hurried home from work that night,
And soon as she arrived,
She found that pretty snake she'd taken to,
Had been revived

"Take me in, tender woman,
Take me in, for heaven's sake,
Take me in, tender woman,"
Sighed the snake

She clutched him to her bosom,
"You're so beautiful," she cried,
"But if I hadn't brought you in,
By now you might have died"

She stroked his pretty skin again,
And kissed and held him tight,
Instead of saying thanks,
The snake gave her a vicious bite!

"Take me in, tender woman,
Take me in, for heaven's sake,
Take me in, tender woman,"
Sighed the snake

"I saved you," cried the woman,
"And you've bitten me, but why?
You know your bite is poisonous,
And now I'm going to die"

"Oh shut up, silly woman,"
Said the reptile with a grin,
"You knew damn well I was a snake,
Before you took me in"

"Take me in, tender woman,
Take me in, for heaven's sake,
Take me in, tender woman,"
Sighed the snake
